42nd Street at Seventh Avenue and Broadway
Known as "the crossroads of the world," glittering Times Square was
renamed for The New York Times newspaper in 1904, when the daily
journal moved to the former Long Acre Square. It soon became the city's
neon-bright entertainment center and hasrecently been renewed,
with several of its historic theatres designated as landmarks.
