Poet's Walk at Central Park

59th to 110th Streets, Fifth to Eigth Avenues
The nation's first planned park is an elegant 840-acre oasis designed by
landscapearchitect Frederick Law Olmstead and architect Calvert Vaux
beginning in 1857. Its highlights include pastoral meadows and wooded
areas, scenic waterways, innumerable plantings, 36 arched bridges,
the Bethesda Fountain, the Mall and zoological garden.
